Channel Islands Fat Boy Surfboard 6ft2

The Fatboy surfboard shape is great for a variety of abilities. The width in the nose brings your centre of gravity up the surfboard which is great for catching those waves with fantastic stability. A great width is also held through the tail giving the surfboard more stability on the back foot when popping up. This board also has great manoeuvrability with your back foot over the fins.

In comparison to the round nosed Mini-Mal, the pointed nose of the Fat Boy makes is easier to duck dive the board, making the surfboard more manageable in the water when turning (less weight etc). Contributing to speed and lift, the squash tail is extremely responsive and has all the surface area of a round tail which helps maintain speed in those slower spots. With the rounded tail corners providing a bit more bite and control than the round tail, the square end allows the board to release. This tail allows more of a pivotal turn (off the bottom or the face), but with less release from the top. Relying on the tri-fin set up to have more control, this is the most popular tail for a shortboard.
